InMojo Day 1 - History Begins With Beta Versions

November 11, 2010

Welcome to the official day 1 of InMojo! We are in beta and still have a long list of want-to-add-features, but there is already a lot if great stuff to try out.

InMojo was founded by 3 graduate students at Keio University in Tokyo in order to make it easier for Open Source Hardware (OSHW) makers to sell and share their ideas. In our our experience with OSHW we found:

1. There was no easy way for individual makers to quickly and cheaply share designs.
Innovation was happening all the time at the maker level, but it rarely feed back into the larger community.

2. Licensing OSHW can be tricky.
Many great designs never got shared simply because makers didn't want to spend the time figuring out how to properly license their projects.

3. Manufacturing mid-size quantities isn't ideal.
It's one thing making a prototype board, but building designs in the 10-15 board range can be very cost ineffective and labor intensive.

InMojo was created to make these 3 things easier for individual makers, and free them up to focus on the fun part: making hardware. We hope you like what you see.

And if you have an idea for a feature, or just want to tell us your experience, great! Send your thoughts and/or suggestions to feedback@inmojo.com.

Make. Share. Live. Open Source Hardware.
